Lovey from Asia
Hello everyone!
I’m Asia, a 13-year-old residing in South Korea. I’ve grown up listening to my grandfather’s heart-wrenching story of losing his beloved mother during the Korean War in 1950. The young boy who lost everything at such a tender age was my grandpa, and I’ve always felt deep sadness and empathy for his experiences.
When I first heard about the war in Ukraine, I was compelled to do something to show support. However, living so far away, I realized there wasn’t much I could do directly. That’s when I embarked on this project: crafting handmade “Lovey” dolls as sources of comfort and hope for my young friends in Ukraine.
Inspired by my own cherished childhood companion, “Lovey,” I felt a strong desire to extend this comfort to others. I began crafting these handmade dolls one by one, using my old clothes, and with the incredible support of friends who donated their old clothes, I’ve collectively created over a hundred of them. Each Lovey is unique, and I’ve named and written a special message for each one.
I eagerly look forward to the day when I can visit Ukraine and personally deliver these Loveys to you.
My mission goes beyond simply providing comfort; it’s about forging a deep connection between the young hearts of Ukraine and the rest of the world, uniting them in dreams of a peaceful future. I invite you to explore the heartwarming story of “Lovey” dolls on this webpage and join us in spreading warmth and love to the children who need it most.
You can scan the QR code attached to each Lovey and share your selfies or pictures of your Lovey, along with your stories. You can change their names if you like.
